Training

Are you looking for inspiring arts-based professional development to enhance your creative curriculum?

In response to schools’ needs we have designed a number of training packages for teaching and support staff as you further develop your cross curricular planning and creative curriculums.

Our ’hands-on’ approach to training offers you the chance to develop your skills and confidence and try out techniques in memorable, fun and beneficial ways.

Whether you are looking for whole day professional development or a twilight session, you will find that we have something to offer.

A recent evaluation of one of our training days showed that 100% of participants had an enjoyable time, felt happier, more confident, had tried something new and were keen to find out more!

All our courses are:

Taking Flight in the EYFS

ACTIVE: We believe in the benefits of active learning – not only are you more likely to remember what you do, it is great fun too!

MEANINGFUL: Our courses allow you to try out different approaches and offer you time and support to think about how you might adapt new ideas to your own practice.

ARTS-BASED: Our high quality training opportunities explore different ways in which the arts can support learning, building upon our extensive experience as creative practitioners.

Please contact us for our training brochure by email at jpierson@catalyst-theatre.co.uk or on 01604 779023.

We've run bespoke training for a wide range of clients, including NIAS, TMC, Teach First,   Northamptonshire County Council Arts Team, Northamptonshire Childminders Assocaiation, Schools and Business Link.

Here are just a few things that clients have said about our training:

"Thanks for the really great day. It set everyone buzzing. The evaluations were very positive. People particularly liked being able to get up and do instead of listen."
Head Teacher, Croyland Nursery School and Children’s Centre

"I had a great time on your workshop. (I was the one laughing over the nut shaker). I have used the idea of song several times, the most used one is for crossing the road. The little boy I look after (nearly 4yrs) likes to sing it - he hums it when he does anything. I have found myself singing it in the shower when washing my hair though, which gets annoying (lol). Thank you again, it was great and the other people I have seen enjoyed it too."

Northamptonshire Childminder

"I am sitting here completing an application and I felt I needed to send you a quick note to let you know what a HUGE, positive impact your seminar has had on my confidence in writing the application and as a result the ease at which it has been written! I wanted to let you know that you certainly have opened the door for me and I thank you for it."
Creative Practitioner

Bespoke Training

We also offer a bespoke training service, so whatever your requirements we’re pretty sure we can come up with the right training solution for you.  You may already know exactly what it is you need, but if you need some inspiration contact us to talk over your requirements.

Consultancy

Our team are highly skilled in consulting both teaching staff and students of all ages through a wide variety of creative approaches, whether to ascertain training needs, recruiting staff or to support the development of your creative curriculum.  We have assisted a number of schools on their journey towards making the curriculum truly come to life; devised student voice programmes, conducted creativity evaluations as well as provided general guidance and practical ideas.

If you fancy a look at our training brochure that drop Juliette a line and she'll get one out to you by post or email - jpierson@catalyst-theatre.co.uk or 01604 779023.

Creative Consultation

We have conducted creative consultation for a whole range of clients who were looking for a different way to consult their customers. For example, consulting customers of Social Care Services through dramatic approaches or young carers through song writing, we can find a creative and practical way to encourage everyone to engage regardless of their interests or abilities.
