Tiny Tales

Fostering a love of books and the written word

Children and adults joining in

These sessions are for Foundation Stage children and we offer the option of parental involvement..  They aim to provide opportunities for children to listen to stories and use them as a basis for imaginative play and to provide access to high quality music making.  Sessions incorporate stories, music, movement and imaginative play.

The characters and themes of the stories are explored through drama, music and movement. A number of sessions enable the themes, stories and skills learnt to be built on and explored through many different activities and art forms.

Sessions can also be facilitated for parental involvement as well.

Clients include:  Milton Keynes Theatre, Royal and Derngate Theatres, The Grove Theatre, Gloucester Nursery School.

Catalyst Theatre Arts ranTiny Tales here for over three years, which had the participants asking for 'more please'. Catalyst's genuine passion for the arts comes through in their work and when they talk you know that they have researched and continues to research all the surrounding factors that help to produce their work.

What can I expect in a session?

The story is our starting point. After initial welcome songs and games we settle down to listen to the story. We use a wide variety of stories and can link them to any themes that you may be covering. We can then explore these stories in one or more of the following ways:

Drama and role play

Music and movement

Visual arts and crafts

We have even used the one story or theme over a number of sessions and explored it in all of these ways.
